The Lightstone Group Announces Kmart Lease Extension
at Shillington Plaza Shopping Center in Reading, Pa.
READING, Pa. (August 18, 2008) The Lightstone Group, one of the largest private real estate owners in the country, today announced that Kmart® has renewed its current 94,500-square-foot, anchor position lease at Shillington Plaza Shopping Center in Reading, Pa.
Located on Parkside Avenue adjacent to Governor Miffin Senior High School, Shillington Plaza Shopping Center is home to a variety of tenants including Weiss Supermarket, Wachovia Bank, Dollar Tree and Curves for Women.
“Shillington Plaza is a high-traffic, extremely visible shopping center that exposes Kmart to a broad range of customers, especially since the store is our anchor retailer,” said Jeffrey Dash, vice president of retail leasing and management for The Lightstone Group. “Combined with our other tenants, consumers can visit Shillington Plaza to buy a variety of items at Kmart, and also do their banking and grocery shopping. This long-term lease renewal is a great example of how a major retailer, combined with a selection of smaller stores, can provide so many options for area residents.”
Kmart, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sears Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: SHLD), is a mass merchandising company that offers customers quality products through a portfolio of exclusive brands that include Jaclyn Smith, Joe Boxer, Martha Stewart Everyday and Route 66.
