Prime Outlets-San Marcos recently got some national attention from some of the world's most avid shoppers.
ABC's "The View" named the 250-store outlet mall the third-best place to shop in the world behind destinations in New York and Dubai. Show contributor Barbara Corcoran created the list based on three shopping issues: bargains, short lines and unique inventory.
The 595,000-square-foot outlet center features brand name retailers such as Crate and Barrel, COACH, Neiman Marcus Last Call Clearance Center, Michael Kors, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, Sony, Nike Factory Store, Ann Taylor Factory Stores, Cole-Haan, Waterford Wedgwood Outlet, and Dooney & Bourke.
The outlet mall is located along Interstate Highway 35 in San Marcos -- between Austin and San Antonio. Retailers there sell brand name items at a discount.
Prime Retail President Bob Brvenik says more than 6 million people visit the outlet mall annually.
Baltimore, Md.-based Prime Retail is one of the largest retail-center operators in the United States. It has a portfolio of approximately 15 million square feet of space throughout the country.
